Thank you for your interest in CPHS. We cannot thank the community enough for their on-going support of CPHS. Support comes in so many forms: a dollar bill dropped in a donation box, a bag of kitty litter.

CPHS About UsAbout Us

The Central PA Humane Society (CPHS), serving Blair and surrounding counties in central Pennsylvania, is a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping animals and people.  The primary goal of CPHS is to find loving homes for adoptable animals.

The presence of the CPHS is invaluable for the animals that cannot speak for themselves.  But we need the support of our community, because there are more animals than there are homes available. And the cost of providing shelter and medical care is staggering.  It’s only through donations and fundraising efforts that we are able to do our job each day and bring some hope to our many "residents".  We get little or no governmental support and we depend almost entirely on the community and its generosity.

CPHS FacilityOur Facility

Our adoption center accepts nearly 5,000 stray, needy, and unwanted pets each year. We focus on being progressive in the way we run our adoption center. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment while they wait for their new forever homes.

Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles. While animals are in our care they receive high-quality food, necessary medications and vaccinations, and enrichment to make them well-adjusted and ready to be welcomed into a new home. We also work to prevent pet abandonment by being a resource for the community.
