Adoption Fees

In addition to supporting our shelter’s ability to care for incoming animals, our adoption fees cover vaccinations, microchipping, as well as FeLV/FIV testing for cats.

Spay/Neuter Fees

For unaltered animals, an additional spay/neuter fee covers the cost of surgery performed with our veterinarian. If you would prefer to have your veterinarian spay/neuter your pet, we will refund the spay/neuter deposit upon proof of surgery by your veterinarian.

Rabbits & Small Animals

We often have rabbits and other small or exotic animals at the shelter.  Please call and asked to be placed on our breed specific list.  We will then give you a call when the animal you are looking for comes in.

Senior to Senior Program

Senior citizens get half off adoption fees on any senior animal.

Behavior and Health

Please keep in mind that there is no such thing as the Perfect Pet.  Any adopted animal will require training, patience and ample time to adjust to their new home.

While we carefully monitor animals surrendered to CPHS, we have limited knowledge of their backgrounds. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the health, behavior, age, gender or breed of any animal adopted from the shelter including any health care.

Adoption Area

Animals are available for adoption to residents living within the adoption area of the Central PA Humane Society, including Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Cambria, Somerset, Centre and Clearfield counties (if not altered).
