Our Wish List
The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society relies solely on donations of supplies and funding from the community to carry out our mission.

Our wishlist contains the items that we always need. While many of the items on our list appear very practical (i.e. paper towels, copy paper, Clorox), they are nonetheless essential items to ensure the best care for our animals.

run D.O.G
Pitbull Mix
Run D.O.G. is a 3-year-old male affectionately known as a “permanent puppy” thanks to his small stature and playful energy. Rescued from difficult living conditions in Bedford County, Run is the last of his group still searching for a forever home. He’s a happy, high-energy guy who would thrive as a hiking buddy or sport-dog companion and loves zooming around the yard with a stuffy in his mouth. Run is eager to please but will need some basic manners and help with house training. He enjoys the company of select dog friends but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Run cannot live with cats, and a fenced yard is preferred but not required.

Nellie
Poodle Mix
Nellie is a 3 year old female. She is a Poodle mix. She is 50-60 lbs. She will chase cats. She can live with kids. She can live with other dogs. She will show her teeth over toys towards other dogs, not towards children or people. She is house and crate trained. She loves to cuddle. She was originally from the Duncansville hoarding house in August so it is great to see how well she has healed over time.

Nimbus
Pitbull Mix
Nimbus is a 3 year old female. She is about 55 lbs. She absolutely cannot live with cats. She has small prey drive. She can live with other large dogs but must be fed separately. She does have anxiety so she has been known to have accidents in her crate. She has a neurological vestibular issue where she walks tilted. She can live with children.

C.T.
Pitbull Mix
C.T. is a young (around 2 years old) pit bull mix who recently came to us as a stray and has captured the hearts of many. Unfortunately, the kennel environment has been very stressful for him, and he’s struggling to adjust. C.T. is timid at first and may bark when meeting new people, but with patience and time, he warms up and enjoys gentle affection once trust is built. Due to his needs, we are seeking a low-traffic home with older children where he can be the only pet for now. His compatibility with other animals will be assessed later as he settles. C.T.’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored by generous donors, but we are committed to making a thoughtful, permanent placement. A foster home willing to support him—possibly long-term—would also be considered.

Zelda
Shepard Mix
Poor Zelda is back in our care. She is no stranger to the shelter system. This is her 2nd time through no fault of her own!! Let's make this a short stay for her!! She is 9 years old. She cannot live with cats. She is dog selective, would prefer another calm friendly dog. She can live with kids 6+ and older. She is still strong on the leash!

Jack
Beagle Mix
Jack is a 4 year old male. He is 52 lbs. He should not be 52 lbs. He will need an adopter who will continue his diet. He currently has a fatty liver due to being obese. He can live with kids. He cannot live with cats. He does not like high energy dogs. He could be adopted with his friend Blue who he came in with.

Fresh Prince
Coonhound Mix
Fresh Prince is our newest friend. He is a 3.5 month old male. He is roughly 15-20 lbs right now. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is a Coonhound mix. He is overly friendly and can live with kids, cats and dogs. He might have the curiosity to chase them as he gets older though!
