The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society relies solely on donations of supplies and funding from the community to carry out our mission.

Our wishlist contains the items that we always need. While many of the items on our list appear very practical (i.e. paper towels, copy paper, Clorox), they are nonetheless essential items to ensure the best care for our animals.

Meet our Team
Veterinary Assistants

Shelby Burns, CVA
Shelby is a certified veterinary assistant. She worked at the shelter for several years before transferring to the Wellness Center when it opened in 2024. While working at the Wellness Center, Shelby furthered her studies and career to become a CVA. She has come to love shelter medicine after seeing the importance of spay and neuter. She is foster mom and loves to foster animals as well. Her favorite breeds are bulldogs and cattle dogs although she is definitely more of a cat lady. Shelby loves working in shelter medicine and couldn't see herselfself doing anything else!
